7 Ways You Can Improve Your Sleep Habits by Using Nootropics

November 27, 2017

When last have you had a good night’s sleep?
-I know, for most of us, it sounds like such a taboo thing…

As people who are constantly caught up in technology, people who are busy and just overall people who are always on the go – it can be hard to get a good night’s sleep.

And, unfortunately, just being busy is not all that contributes to how we sleep at night. We can also experience issues with our sleep-dependent upon our stress levels if we are experiencing any depression or not, if we suffer from insomnia and so many other things…

In fact, the U.S. Institute of Health estimates that as many as 70 million Americans suffer from chronic, treatable sleep disorders – as of 2006. Furthermore, insomnia, specifically, affects more than 30 million people and 6 million people suffer from moderate to severe sleep apnea.

But, getting enough sleep and getting high-quality sleep is vital to both our physical and mental health – we need that time of rest and rejuvenation to have the ability to power through the next day.

Anyhow, the topic of sleep or lack thereof, is not an uncommon topic today, where several individuals find themselves struggling to fall asleep, or even to simply stay asleep at night.

A good quality sleep goes a long way, which is why it’s common to find people searching for "sleep hacks", supplement reviews, a medicine review, or alternative options to assist in getting that truly restorative sleep we all desire.

And, thanks to alternative options such as nootropics, you can improve your sleeping habits in a variety of ways, such as:

  1. You can get a deeper sleep.

Simply falling asleep is not enough to fully allow your body to recover from the day and any other lingering ailments it is battling. That is why there are different stages that you reach.

And, that deep sleep – rapid eye movement (REM) sleep – is where the real rest comes in. REM sleep is also responsible for keeping your body on its normal circadian rhythm – or sleep cycle – which means getting a good, deep night of sleep can affect the rest of your sleeping habits.

  2. You can reduce your stress levels.

Stress causes a lot of people to stay awake at night – maybe your mind just won’t stop running. Specifically, stress causes hyperarousal, which causes an upset between wakefulness and sleep.

And, insomnia, in most cases, is often related to stress. Therefore, relieving the stress could help alleviate insomnia.

One drawback to stress is the fact that you might not always know where it is coming from and you can’t always stop it. However, nootropics can help balance out that chemical imbalance and encourage your mind to relax.

  3. They can help you overcome insomnia.

Insomnia can stem from depression or anxiety, or a combination of both, or just on its own. Either way – you can’t fight it by yourself. Insomnia must be treated with something and nootropics can help.

  4. They will help you feel more rested.

Getting enough sleep is important, but, if you didn’t get enough good sleep you really won’t feel much different than you would if you got no sleep at all.

So, aside from the hours that you sleep, the quality of your sleep is important too. You should enter the deepest stage of sleeping to truly escape your thoughts and let your body recharge.

  5. They make sleep natural.

When it comes to insomnia, anxiety, or depression going to sleep doesn’t come naturally. But, by using other aids such as nootropics you can help ease your body into a natural sleep each night which will also make deep sleep much easier.

  6. They can aid with symptoms of depression.

Depression can cause your mind to race and give off similar symptoms of anxiety making sleep hard, however, nootropics can help with these symptoms.

Most of the things that inhibit sleep are due to some sort of chemical or hormonal imbalance – however, when treated with positive alternative methods, you can help your body naturally and easily drift off to sleep.

  7. You can control when you get tired.

One good thing about nootropics is that they typically only take a short amount of time to kick in. Therefore, you can easily take them – most of them – about 30 minutes to an hour prior to going to bed and that gives them enough time to kick in and start working.

You aren’t left taking them with dinner and hoping you don’t get tired within the next few minutes.

So, how much do you value your sleep?

If sleeping is an issue for you, consider alternative methods like nootropics – your mind and body will thank you!
