Cordyceps, The Adaptogenic

Cordyceps, The Adaptogenic "Super-Shroom"!

January 15, 2018

Cordyceps, or otherwise referred to as the caterpillar fungus, originates in the high altitude mountain regions of China. This mushroom has been an essential part of Chinese Medicine for hundreds of years including being used to boost energy, promote immune system health, and treat various illnesses.

This adaptogenic "super-shroom" has gained excessive popularity due to its health benefits and most importantly its effects on physical performance! Which is why to no surprise we have opted for it as a core ingredient in our newly released, Prime Active formulation!

Background:

Cordyceps made its claim to fame back in 1993 during the Chinese National Games in Beijing, where during these games, there were three world records broken in concession by Chinese women track athletes. Where after negative scrutiny regarding anabolic steroid use subsided, it was discovered that these athletes were consuming daily elixirs that included cordyceps mushroom as a core ingredient.

Where the women's track team coach eventually revealed after that the high-altitude training and a mushroom elixir, in which they prepared from Cordyceps Sinensis, were what they believed to be responsible for the record-breaking performances by the athletes.

Benefits:

VO2 Max:

  • VO2 Max is the maximum rate of oxygen consumption as measured during incremental exercise. Where studies have found that users supplementing with that of Cordyceps were found to have a VO2 max that significantly increased in comparison to those subjects who weren't.

Endurance:

  • Studies have found that cordyceps usage has been related to the support of normal fat mobilization and beta-oxidation, which results in the preservation of glycogen usage during prolonged exercise

ATP:

  • Mitochondrial ATP production is the primary natural cellular energy source in our body, which is required for nearly every biological process, including cognitive functioning and physical activity. With studies suggesting that cordyceps supplementation could significantly improve how much the human body create ATP.

Cordyceps in Prime Active?

Prime Active is a cutting-edge, all-natural performance enhancing product! What makes all the difference in this product is due to the optimization of cellular energy, opposed to current supplements which target "false energy" or "stimulation".
