How to Supercharge your Memory

Memory, the process of storing, encoding and retrieving information, something we all wish we could update and upgrade like the technology around us.

The concept of “Memory” is commonly broken down into two main components,
1) Short-term memory or commonly referred to as “Working memory”
2) Long-term memory

The method of storage is based on the type of information at hand and the length of time we retain that information for.

Every second of every day you are analyzing, absorbing, sorting and storing information at a rate you can not even fathom. Every day, your brain has the opportunity to form new neural connections, grow new cells and ultimately “reengineer” itself, this is simply referred to as “neuroplasticity”.
-Neuroplasticity is what enables your brain to constantly change and adapt to both the internal and external environment.

A strong memory is not only dependent on your “intellect” but rather dependent on the health and vitality of your brain. Whether you are a working class individual, athlete or a student, there are multiple tools to not only keep your mind sharp but improve your memory and mental performance!

Thus, the Prime Self team have come up with the top 5 methods to "prime" your mental performance and supercharge your memory!

Once again we come to Nootropics, the up and coming “all-stars” of the supplement community. If you are still unsure on what Nootropics are and what they can do for you, have a look here.

Nootropics have huge benefits to offer, from enhancing focus, memory and mood to even physical performance.
-Thus, it's to no surprise that we mention them as another tool to add to your arsenal in aid of Supercharging your Memory.

In this piece however, we'll be referring to a select few nootropics in particular:

  • CDP-Choline: The standard foundation to any nootropic stack, a powerful memory enhancer and the precursor to acetylcholine in your brain.

  • Pramiracetam: Considered to be a “true brain booster” that can improve memory, concentration, and especially focus.
  • Noopept: One of the most powerful nootropics available and well-known for its amazing effects on cognition and abiloity to increase BDNF in the brain.
  • Bacopa: A natural “brain-tonic” that has been used for thousands of years for its ability to boost brain power and its adaptogenic properties.

Restoration:

Get a good night's rest, allocate some “off time” for your mind and body to recover. More is not always better in this case, but rather the quality! You can find some tips here on how to optimise your sleep for true restoration.

Sleep is possibly one of the most important aspects of this article, sleep has been proven to enhance your memories and improve your ability to think clearly the following day.
